Charlie is a Japanese Meridian Therapy practitioner who practices a gentle palpation-based branch of acupuncture developed by blind practitioners in Japan that was further refined by his teacher, T. Koei Kuwahara.  He has extensive postgraduate training in acupuncture and moxibustion techniques as well as Kampo, the Japanese based herbal system rooted in ancient texts and abdominal palpation.  His approach for diagnosis and treatment is heartfelt, evidence based, transparent, and seeks root causes of patient’s discomfort.

Charlie works as a facilitator with patients to help them rediscover their innate ability to heal.  His treatments are uniquely custom using intuition tailored to both the patient’s constitutional patterns and Higher Self.  In addition to gentle contact needling, he uses precise direct moxibustion on the skin to warm acupuncture points for further supplementation. Throughout the treatment, Charlie is often checking his work through questioning, light channel palpation, and both pulse and abdominal diagnosis, which requires him to remain with the patient during their experience.  Additionally, he provides both a front and back treatment, as it is a complement to balancing the body.

Charlie maintains his title as Licensed Acupuncturist (LAc) in California and Doctor of Oriental Medicine (DOM) in New Mexico where he lived for over eighteen years.  He attended Southwest Acupuncture College in Santa Fe where he earned his Masters of Science in Oriental Medicine.  Charlie is also a Diplomate of Oriental Medicine with the NCCAOM, the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.
